The craniosacral system is a physiological system that provides the physical environment in which the brain and spinal cord function. It has its own pulse and fluid movement, the cerebrospinal fluid, which surrounds the brain and goes down into the spinal cord. Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, manual therapy, applied on the neck, skull, spinal cord and sacrum, to release restrictions and to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. It is increasingly used as an effective technique for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including: whiplash, neck and backpain, migraine, sleeping problems, chronic fatigue, stress and tension related problems.
