In case you need to change your appointment please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise we have to charge a cancellation fee which is 50% of the booked massage price. This is simply because we are fully booked most of the time and would be disappointing another customer if this occurred.
Please make sure to arrive 10 minutes before your session starts. This way we can make sure you go through all the levels of relaxation you deserve and we can complete your treatment in full.
Why not treat your friends to a massage? Sessions are also available as gift vouchers.
For our regulars we offer a 5-session card at a 5% discount or a 10-session card at a 10% discount!
Types of massages
Any combination of the following massage tecniques are possible on the full body or parts of the body such as head, neck and shoulders or feet and legs.
The Deep Tissue Massage is our most popular massage technique at Corpus Rub because most of our clients, after trying it once, won't go back to anything else. When our bodies experience stress it produces adrenaline. Our Deep Tissue Massages work to remove these toxins from the body and because we systematically work through all the appropriate muscles in your body the results are enduring.
Shiatsu is an age old Japanese massage technique which involves working the pressure points in our body by massaging it with the fingers. It also includes stretches and other massage technique. It is said to have a healing effect on the body and mind. Our clients often fall asleep when they have a Shiatsu massage so we have the proof that it is good for you in the sense that you can truly relax from it!
A Sports Massage (also known as manual & manipulative therapy) is perfect after doing sport or recovering from a sport injury. It helps to ease pain and treat disability. It most commonly includes kneading and manipulation of muscles, joint mobilization and joint manipulation.
Many of our clients enjoy the Pregnancy Massage as this is a form of prenatal care for you and your baby. The Pregnancy Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). For your own safety, we only perform these massages after your first trimester!
Hot Stone Massages
It is as if an ancient truth is revealed in our relationship with stones when we see photo's depicting a stone massage with stones decorated on someone’s back from large to small. It is no wonder that placing a comfortably heated stone on our clients back in combination with a massage is deeply relaxing. In the massage itself we first work the muscles without stones and then use the stones to reach into the muscles to relieve stress. It is certainly recommended on a cold windy day as is often the case in Amsterdam!
If you prefer a more gentle massage we can recommend the Swedish Massage, also referred to as the Classical Massage. Although the Swedish Massage can also be firmed up to your preference this is the most typical relaxing massage. We will apply massage techniques such as rhythmic tapping, shaking, kneading, and sliding as part of the Swedish Massage. All you have to do is relax and enjoy!
If you are familiar with Reflexology you will know that this is considered an alternative medicine. By massaging the central nervous points located in the foot we activate the body's functions to heal itself. If you prefer to have the reflexology treatment without a in-depth intake (which could be insightful!) you can choose the shorter treatment which starts at 60 minutes. This is definitely not for the light footed...
